Why is Schrade different from other knife brands?

Schrade knives have a long history, starting in 1904 as the Schrade Cutlery Company. They have been producing popular pocket folding knives in America for over a century. In 1946, the company was sold to the Imperial Knife Associated Companies, becoming the Schrade-Walden Cutlery Co., Inc. The brand has gone through various changes and ownership over the years.

In 2004, the factory in Ellenville was closed, and the Schrade name was purchased by Taylor Brands LLC. Taylor Brands continues to manufacture products under the Schrade brand, as well as other well-known knife brands like Old Timer, Uncle Henry, Imperial, and Smith & Wesson knives.

Regarding the warranty, Schrade offers a limited lifetime warranty on their covered products, which are warranted to be free from defects in materials and workmanship for the lifetime of the product.
